Are you questioning the timing in your life? Recently, I have been contemplating the saying “Good things come to those who wait.” Waiting is hard. We live in a world of instant gratification so trying to wait for the right thing to come along really takes patience.
Many motivational speakers will tell you “If you want something, go get it.” There is a fine line between “Good things come to those who wait. and “If you want something, go get it.” But how do we find a balance and figure out where that line is?
If you are waiting for the love of your life, when do you change your path and start looking for it? I believe there is something valuable in both aspects. Waiting allows you to grow, evolve and truly know what it is that you want. New love, new job, new house, etc. None of these things will just magically appear. You need to ask yourself if you are waiting because you don’t believe you deserve it yet? Do you really want it? Are you blocking these things from showing up?
At some point, you must start taking action and set true intentions to attract these things into your life. Without intention, you will be waiting forever.
Think about what is going on in your situation. Many people believe they want something but there is an internal conflict that is holding them back. Their heart and mind are not in sync. If you believe you are experiencing this, find time to meditate. Now when I say meditate, this does not need to be for hours, it could be 15 minutes on your way to work, during your shower, first thing when you wake up in the morning or last thing before bed. Do not put pressure on yourself to stop thinking. It’s the opposite, use this time to set intention on what it is you want in your life and what may be blocking it. Awareness is freedom. During this time, do not judge yourself. Let the thoughts flow in and out. You do not need to give attention to all the thoughts that come, some you may need to acknowledge and then push out like “Don’t forget to do the laundry.” Or “Make sure you pay the cable bill.” When you choose to go into introspective thought these daily chores don’t belong.
During your time try to understand your core desires. Is your reason for waiting based on fear? Are you fearful that you may actually get the job you dreamed of and you have to be in the spotlight and perform? You may be in a comfortable job but not entirely happy and the thought of change is scary. What about love? Are you fearful of losing your freedom? Once you can gain some insight into what’s holding you back, you can determine which is the right course for you. Do you wait or do you go out and get it?
Once you understand your motivations and set your intention you will attract what you truly want and deserve regardless if you wait or go out and get it.
