So I’m sure many of Be Happy Stay Happy fans may think that I am the happiest, most positive person around. Well, I’m not. I am human. I have negative thoughts and emotions like everyone else. I just choose to deal with them in a different way than some. I try to change my focus from negativity or frustration to positivity.
This takes effort and mindfulness. I only began to learn about mindfulness about two years ago.
“Mindfulness is a state of active, open attention on the present. When you’re mindful, you observe your thoughts and feelings from a distance, without judging them good or bad. Instead of letting your life pass you by, mindfulness means living in the moment and awakening to experience.” – Psychology Today
I have learned to accept my thoughts but don’t let them control me. As I have a negative thought or worry, I allow it to be, let it go and come back to the present moment.
It is not always easy to be mindful. It takes a conscious effort to be in the moment. I highly recommend that you practice mindfulness. It has made a big difference in my life and can in yours too!
There are many resources out there to help you on your mindfulness journey!
